Profile

In 1987, Kaori Sasaki established UNICUL International, Inc., a communications consultancy that provides translation and interpretation in seventy languages to global corporations across a broad range of business sectors. Known as an internet pioneer, she opened the first portal for women in Japan in 1996. In 2000, she founded ewoman, Inc., an influential think tank and diversity consultancy that provides marketing, branding, product development, and training to major corporations.

She also founded and produces the International Conference for Women in Business in 1996, now the largest annual working women's conference of its kind in Japan with the longest history and highest satisfaction rate. The Conference counts C-suite executives and government ministers, including Prime Minister Abe, among its participants.

Ms. Sasaki also currently serves on the boards of directors of major public companies such as NEC Corporation, KOBAYASHI Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Japan Post Co., Ltd., and AGP Corporation, and was a corporate auditor for Tokyo Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance.

She also serves on advisory boards and management councils for several major organizations, including the National Museum of Nature and Science (Tokyo), Sony Foundation for Education, KDDI Foundation, and The Internet Association of Japan.

Conscious of her civic duty, Ms. Sasaki serves/ed on many councils for the Ministries of Health, Labor and Welfare, of Education, of Economy, Trade and Industry, and of Information and Technology, including the Regulatory Reform Council of the Cabinet Office to which she was appointed by Prime Minister Abe.

In September 2018, Ms. Sasaki will become chair of the JAPAN Chapter of the Women Presidentsf Organization (U.S.); the premier membership organization for women entrepreneurs, presidents, CEOs, and managing directors worldwide.

Ms. Sasaki is a sought-after speaker who appears regularly as a commentator in various media. She makes speeches about diversity management, time management, work-life balance, and new methods of marketing to smart consumers. She has made over 1500 speeches in Japan and overseas, including those at OECD and APEC conferences. She traveled to over 30 countries as an international news reporter for Japanfs top-rated news show and anchored the gCBS 60 Minutesh show in Japan.

Ms. Sasaki has written several bestsellers including gTime Managementh and gSeven Concepts for a More Rewarding Life.h Asahi Shimbun credits her with creating the day planner boom in Japan after she launched gAction Planner,h another perennial best seller.
